This community-centered exhibition uncovers the overlooked history of Puerto Rican players who played for the Baltimore Elite Giants in the Negro Leagues, highlighting the deep connections between Puerto Rico and Black Baltimore during segregation. Learn more.

Today is my father’s birthday. He would have turned 72. A proud New Yorker and an even prouder Puerto Rican, this day would have meant everything to him. His birthday, the National Puerto Rican Day Parade, and the New York Knick’s winning the championship, all in one. 🗽🇵🇷🏀🏆

My father taught me pride, pride in where we come from, in our people, and in carrying our culture forward. Even though he’s no longer here, I honor him through this work, through memory, and through every space I create for our stories to live on.

Today, I celebrate him. Happy birthday, Daddy. ♥️🌺

Located in present-day Fells Point, this space was once known to many Puerto Rican families as “El Barrio” and formerly housed Education Based Latino Outreach (EBLO), founded by Puerto Rican community advocate José Orlando Ruiz (1950–2006).

Holiday memories on vinyl 🎄✨
Growing up, the holidays always had a soundtrack. One album that’s forever tied to that feeling is Merry Christmas All by #TheSalsoulOrchestra. Hearing it now instantly brings me back to those moments: family, warmth, and music filling the room.

A little history 👇
 The Salsoul Orchestra was formed in 1974 by arranger and vibraphonist Vincent Montana, Jr. as the house band for @salsoulrecords . They blended Philly soul, funk, Latin rhythms, and lush orchestral strings, helping shape the sound of disco at its peak. Their influence lives on, sampled and celebrated in house and dance music.
 Wishing everyone a joyful, soulful holiday season. ♥️✨✨
