Bring your stories, photos, memorabilia, or family documents to Tola's Room's Community Archiving Day. Help preserve the history of Puerto Rican baseball and Black Baltimore for our upcoming exhibition. Digitization and archival supplies provided.

About the event
Join Tola's Room, the Maryland State Archives, and Elle Friedberg, Art Conservator, for a Community Archiving Day and help shape From Borinquen to Baltimore: Puerto Rican Players of the Baltimore Elite Giants, an exhibition exploring the overlooked history of Puerto Rican players in the Negro Leagues and the enduring connections between Puerto Rico and Black Baltimore through baseball, migration, and cultural exchange.
As we prepare for the exhibition's grand opening in Summer 2027, we're inviting the community to share photographs, baseball memorabilia, family documents, newspaper clippings, and personal stories related to the Baltimore Elite Giants, the Negro Leagues, Puerto Rican baseball, the Puerto Rican Winter League, migration, and life in Baltimore during the 1930s–1950s.
Just bring your story or artifact, we'll take care of the rest. Archiving supplies and digitization equipment will be provided, along with light food and refreshments throughout the event.
